The Big Kahuna Cabernet Shiraz (Australia, 2006)

Category: BlendMike @ 6:56 am
No Bottle Image Available This is a Cabernet Shiraz blend from Australia.
$3 Purchased form Fresh and Easy
Three Trophies
  • Strong fruit forward aroma with strawberry.
  • Burst of strawberries right of the bat followed by blackberries.
  • On the sweet side, but not too sweet or jammy.
  • Simple thin and light with a medium finish.
  • Like a piece of candy or a slice of cake is good after a well balanced dinner….so to is this wine…Not big or bold enough to rely on to supply all your nutritional needs; but definitely something you don’t mind having every once in a while….especially considering the cost.

A decent red blend made better by the bargain price. I haven’t ran into the supply issues at my local F&E that the other writer encountered. The wine itself has a decent fruit aroma, slightly strong but not overpowering. Spiced taste of the Shiraz is well balanced with the Cabernet. I have to disagree with Gavin Quinn above, may have bought a bad bottle.

A friend gave me a bottle of the B.K. Cabernet the other day, and I decided to try it tonight. I thought the flavor is quite nice. I’d say it’s a taisty wine. I’m going to tell other friends of mine to try it! JustaGrape.com is right on with its discription of the taste.

This wine I’m srinking now, The Big Kahuna Red, not a Cab, just a “red” Hmmmm…

I’m getting a vinegar aroma, and I’m not kidding – body odour..

I’m totally serious, this is the worst wine I can remember having!
