This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel and Sangiovese. This popular yet limited availability Trader Joe’s wine is once again available at this time (or at least it is here in Arizona). This is our first review of a Gypsy vintage and it did not disappoint. Overall providing fantastic value from a $5 bottle. If you do see it your local Trader Joe’s, don’t leave without buying at least a couple! |

- Smells of all spice, cedar, fire and smoke!
- Smooth texture with a great overall mouth feel.
- Sweet start with a dry medium finish.
- Tastes of charcoal, earth and wood with fruit undertones of dark berries and raspberry.
- Fascinating, deep and complex… like a book you pick up from a garage sale because you need something to read on vacation… yet once you start it you cannot put it down and it is more engrossing than the vacation itself.

We are excited to say that this wine is our 100th review here at justagrape.com! We couldn’t have picked a more complex or interesting wine that this little Rioja gem from Spain. |
| $15 from Costco |

- Aromas of leather, wood, citrus grove and figs.
- Flavors are big and bold.
- Earth, leather and tobacco.
- Toasted oak and figs.
- Wild and rambunctious with a purpose… like and old west outlaw who rides into town… shoots up the saloon… steals the women… and rides out of town on a mission.

We’ve reviewed the 2005 vintage of this wine already, and because it was such a great wine for the price we couldn’t pass up the 2006 vintage as well. Once again we were not disappointed as this wine proved to be excellent once again. |

- Sweet strawberry and spice in the aroma
- Tastes of vanilla and rich berries flavors
- Overall very smooth and easy drinking
- Great balance with just the right amount of tannins and sweetness
- This wine is the perennial playoff team… always very competitive… always able to put together a team that goes deep into the playoffs year after year. Pick this wine up, you won’t be disappointed… it’s a winner!!!

This is a Shiraz from McLaren Vale in Australia. This wine was given my sister-in-law Natasha, and we enjoyed it together over the Christmas break. We probably would have given this wine the coveted 5 trophies had it not been so pricey. We’ve had a few wines in the past that were just as impressive but sold in the high $20 or $30 range. |
| $100+ (We’re told it is also available for the higher prices of $200-$400, but we found it for $120 online). |
 |
- Aromas of blackberry with a hint of sweet strawberry at the end.
- Tastes of dark berries, plum and a bit of rich chocolate.
- A medium length (somewhat long for American oak) very satisfying finish.
- A fantastic food or evening wine, very versatile.
- An exotic foreign supermodel that has been introduced to you through a friend of a friend… somehow you charm her into a night out… you expect a very superficial and fun experience, but as the evening progresses it becomes clear that she is well educated, smart and very interesting… you have a great time, but you never see her again (you are just a regular dude after all, and she’s a supermodel).

I picked up this wine because I have had Columbia Crest Two Vine series before and was never disappointed. The price is right and the quality has always left me impressed. Anyway, this one caught my eye because I did not really know what i was in the mood for and since it was a blend I figured I would give it a try. |

- Aromas of Strawberry and clove
- Cranberry and spice in the flavor
- Somewhat tart but in a pleasant way
- Slight taste of a really ripe and juicy plum on the finish
- Interesting, intriguing, and keeps you attentive…like a very good college professor that engages you with so many things that you wonder where the time went in the class….ok..ok..ok…not really…it is more like the class clown that keeps you awake in a boring philosophy class because you never know what he is going to do next…Yup…thats more like. This wine was a lot of fun!!!!!

This is a Chianti Riserva from Italy. Like most Italian wines it is built for a good meal. This wine would be great with a hearty macaroni dish(or pasta dish if you are Canadian or American). Or you could give it a try the next time you throw a steak on the grill. At six bucks this will not disappoint you. |

- Intense flower aromas – specifically lilly
- Hints of moist earth.
- Tastes like flowers with an oak finish.
- Smooth and flavorful.
- OK…so this wine had a lot of flowery aspects to it, that does not mean it is a little sissy. This wine could be like the small, undersized kid in your class that gets picked on by the school bully. That is, until he fights back and everyone finds out he is a third degree black belt in Karate. This wine definitely holds its own and can stand up for itself.

This wine is a Tempranillo from the Rioja region of Spain. We explained a little about what a Rioja was in a previous review on Marques De Riscal
The bottle suggests opening it several hours prior to drinking and we would agree. We found that with the use of a decanter that an hour was all it took to be ready. Decanting really smoothed out the wine and added a wonderful texture. This wine has received many accolades from other reviewers and being that the price was only $10.00 we would agree with them. |

- Sweet black cherries dominate the aroma with an undertone of spice
- Very soft and velvety in the mouth
- Cherries and plum in the taste
- Earthy with oak flavors come through at the end.
- A great wine that is a little bit harsh right out of the bottle. Decanting and time is strongly suggested….much like a relationship that takes time and effort so to does this wine…The time you give it to breath will reward you for your wait and you will be left with a very easy drinking, smooth and comfortable wine.

This wine is a blend of Marechal Foch and Gamay Noir. This wine is produced on Vancouver Island in British Columbia and may be difficult to find outside of that area. If you are on Vancouver Island we highly recommend that you try this wine if you enjoy wines that are more rich, earthy and dry. We tried our best to get a picture of the bottle but could not find one anywhere. The wine is produced at Godfrey Brownell Vinyards in Duncan British Columbia. |

- Flavors of smoke, cedar and plum.
- Deep and dark.
- Decanting is recommended.
- Great with grilled red meats or pasta.
- Very hearty yet very drinkable.
- Deep , Dark, and complex…Like a mysterious women you see and talk with briefly on the subway… she gets off at the next stop and you wonder if you will ever see her again.

This wine is a Tempranillo from Spain. Tempranillo is the main grape for much of Spain. The primary regions where the grape is grown are Rioja and Ribera Del Duero. Tempranillo’s can be very similar in many ways to Pinot Noir as is the case with this particular bottle. |
| $10 Purchased at Bashas |

- Aromas of red berries, cherries and vanilla.
- Very smooth and soft, but also light and crisp at the same time.
- Flavors of plumb and a little smoke and oak.
- At $10.00 a bottle this wine is like waking up on Saturday morning at 5:00 a.m……You suddenly realize that it is the weekend and you are free to sleep for a couple of more hours. A great wine, and the price makes it so worth it. You must try this wine! You will be so grateful that you did.

A Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma California. This is a wine that is a favorite of Mike and Eddie. The price as combined with how well it tastes makes it a definite winner when serving this great bottle. |
| $10 Purchased at Trader Joe’s and Fry’s |
 |
- A dryer wine that is very earthy.
- Notes of cigar and leather yet it’s not overpowering.
- Easy to drink.
- So much better than its price suggests.
- The wine is like the girl that can make a $15.00 dress from a vintage clothing shop look like a Juicy Couture off the rack at Saks Fifth Avenue.
